Biography

Brett Reynolds has over twenty years of trial experience representing companies and individuals in litigation throughout central and south Texas. He is the President of Blakeley & Reynolds, P.C., formed in 2001. His practice focuses on complex litigation, including the aggressive defense of transportation and trucking litigation, products liability, auto and premises liability, life, health and accident, property insurance, toxic torts, oil field accidents, and indemnity litigation.

Mr. Reynolds holds the highest peer-review rating (AV) as compiled by Martindale-HubbellÒ. He is a Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and is admitted to practice in all Texas State Courts, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He participates in the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, San Antonio Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and Texas Bar Foundation, as well as the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas.

He was born in San Antonio and raised in New Braunfels, receiving an undergraduate degree (B.B.A.) from Southwest Texas State University with honors in 1982, followed by a law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1985. While in law school, he was awarded a position as an Associate Editor of the Southwestern Law Journal.

Mr. Reynolds has tried a variety of complex civil cases before juries in central and south Texas. Before forming Blakeley & Reynolds, P.C. in 2001, he was a shareholder for eight years at Ball & Weed, P.C., preceded by associate positions there and at the former Groce, Locke & Hebdon, P.C. in San Antonio.

AV is a registered certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties, Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell Ratings fall into two categories - legal ability and general ethical standards.

Legal Ability Ratings take into consideration the standard of professional ability in the area where the lawyer practices, the lawyer's expertise, and other professional qualifications. If a lawyer's practice is limited or specialized, Peer Review Ratings are based on performance in those specific fields of law. The highest legal ability rating is "A," denoting "very high to preeminent" ability. The General Ethical Standards Rating denotes adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities. The General Recommendation Rating is "V," denoting "very high."
